Mom-To-Be Foot Soak

Mom-To-Be Foot Soak

Expectant mothers often experience discomfort in their feet, including swelling and a variety of aches and pains. One way to counteract these stresses is by soaking your feet in a soothing, homemade solution of Epsom salts and various natural ingredients. The mixture also makes a welcome gift; use the Foot Soak Label template as a gift tag, and affix it to the exterior of a small bag.

To make the foot soak, combine 1 1/4 cups of Epsom salts with an equal measure of kosher salt in a jar. Add a 1/4 cup each of baking soda and cornstarch, up to 1/2 teaspoon of lemon essential oil, and up to 1/4 teaspoon of spearmint essential oil. Attach the lid, and shake the jar to combine. Pour the mixture into a bag, and use within a few weeks.

Special thanks to Carolyn Sajdecki and Kevin Coffey from Auroma. We used a lemon cold press and spearmint from auroma.com. The “Tin Tie” coffee bags were from Nashville Wraps (phone: 800-547-9727) and coffee bags were found at the Container Store.
