A short perennial herb with large, hairy leaves, and small purple or blue flowers.@Warm, nutty, musky, herbacious scent.@The geographic origin deTermines the levels of constituents, but generally Clary Sage oils are very similar.@Has high levels of esters and alchohols that contribute to the sedative and analgesic effects.@Can have a narcotic effect when used in high doses, therefore not recommended with use of alcohol.@The name comes from the word 'clarus' meaning clear.@In the middle ages it was known as 'Oculus Christi' meaning Eye of Christ.
