Description of Benzoin Resinoid Pourable
Resins are natural exudates from trees and plants. They contain different odorous principals and each one has unique fixative properties, highly prized in perfumery.
resinoids, similar to
concretes, are produced from these by an alcohol-extraction process. The alcohol dissolves the resinous materials rather than waxy matter. Then the alcohol is evaporated away, and the
resinoid remains. Unfortunately, in the marketplace, Benzoin
resinoid is often diluted with solvents in order to become a “pourable” product. If it is to be sold in a bottle with a dripulator, the amount of actual Benzoin in the solvent is very low indeed. Auroma has obtained a “pourable” Benzoin Resnoid, that when warmed gently (for example, in a bowl of hot water), can be measured and poured easily, without any dilution in solvents.
