Manuka essential oil has a spicy, herb-like and fresh aroma. The color of the oil is clear yellow. It is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of a small tree native to New Zealand.

Specific Uses: The properties of Manuka essential oil were appreciated by the Maoris of New Zealand in applications to treat skin problems, sore and stiff muscles and joints, as well as head colds and some respiratory problems. Manuka is at least twice as effective as Australian Tea Tree essential oil against gram positive bacteria (staphlococcus & streptococcus).
