Cinnamon Bark essential oil has a spicy, warm, sweet, dry, long lasting aroma. The scent of Cinnamon Bark is more full-bodied than Cinnamon Leaf. Its oil is pale-yellow to dark-yellow. It is steam distilled from the bark of an evergreen tree. The oil and spice is often confused with Cassia, as they have similar properties and aromas.
