Historically, the herb and nursery trades have known two types of Chamomile. The German or Hungarian type - Matricaria chamomile or Chamomile recutita, and Chamomile Roman Anthemis or English type. The German and Roman Chamomiles are very distinguishable, and the effects of one can in no way be associated with the other.
