Description of Bergamot Essential Oil Organic

The scent of Bergamot essential oil is rich, with a fruity top note, followed by a herbaceous and balsamic odor. The color of the oil fades as it exposed to air, and particularly light. It eventually turns yellow or pale olive-brown. Bergamot essential oil is cold pressed from the peel of the bergamot fruit. The fruit originates from an upright tree which grows up to 12m (39ft) in height Italian folklore claims the tree was brought by Columbus from the Canary Islands during his travels

Interesting Facts about Bergamot Essential Oil Organic
  • The tree grew in a costal area of the southern part of Calabria, Italy
  • Italian folklore claims the tree was brought by Columbus from the Canary Islands during his travels
  • Because the fruit cannot be eaten, the tree is cultivated exclusively for its essential oil

Bergamot essential oil is known to be photo-toxic when applied to the skin. Avoid exposure to the sun or sunbed rays for 12 hours after applying to the skin(massage, lotion, or bath). See The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy by Salvatorre Battaglia, Second edition published by The International Centre of Holistic Aromatherapy in 2003 page 170

GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION:

(1) Store essential oils in colored glass (we suggest amber). Keep them out of sunlight, tightly capped. Avoid contact with plastic, painted or varnished surfaces.

(7) Keep essential oils out of the reach of children. Be very cautious when using with children, using only the gentlest oils, such as Lavender, but in extremely small doses
